The new space will be a tunnel connecting between the two sides of the river.
The Tunnel functions as a gap. It is a space which separates the individual from its original site and disconnects him from time, leaving him unconscious about the “outside world”.
As walking outside the tunnel, the person will be able to connect the different spaces he experienced, and by that revealing the space in its whole figure.
The tunnel will use the language developed in my research. There will be stairs leading to the bottom of the tunnel but also will continue all along it. They will also be used as a bench or a place you can sit and relax.
Light fixtures will illuminate the space and annotate the walking direction in the tunnel.

Soundscapes. Digital studio
My project deals with bridging the gaps created in the space we experience with our senses, and with orientation in a lacking space.
The sound I’ve chose was the sound that bats produce to navigate through space. Due to their vision disability, their hearing sense is very developed. They produce a sound in very high frequency and by receiving the echo back and analyzing its components, they manage to understand the spatial image of their environment, and In fact the echo is a reflection of space. One of my conclusions that come up from my research of the sound was, that there’s a very short moment between the times when the voice is produced for the echo returns, where the bat is in a state of unconsciousness for his space.
The same phenomenons of unconsciousness also exist in human. When we’re exploring space or movement, blinking doesn’t enable us to see the thing in his continuous shape. Blinking cuts our sight in to snapshots, and leaves gaps of unconsciousness about our space. By using the digital media, I could connect between the snapshots of a movement, and generate space which expresses the entire movement with no gaps.
In the mapping phase, I followed the light penetrating under the bridge, changing throughout the day and documented it with snapshots. At this time, I was trying to discover the full space the sun’s movement creates in the context. I understood that this space can only happen in this specific site due to the bridge features and the combination of light in it. The light is like the echo. He’s the reflection of space, and by using the spatial qualities it creates a new space.
Despite those gaps created by our senses, we’re to collect all the information and build a complete spatial image in our mind.
In my animation I wanted to represent the experience we’re having while exploring space. By moving through space and using our senses, we get partial information about the space we are in. Gaps in our understanding of space are created, but by combining the data we’ve collected, we can see the full shape space. However each individual collect different data about space (notice certain things, and neutralize others), and thus creates his own spatial experience.

The sun’s movement space
The superposition above reveal a new spatial perception
of the sun’s movement . The space can only exist on
this precise site because the sun rays penetrates
this bridges gap.

under the bridge
I took those pictures because it was the first thing that caught my eyes.
This ray of light getting under the bridge, is like another layer of space in that specific site and has it’s own
spatial qualitys.
